LAS VEGAS (May 15, 2012) – The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas will kick off the quintessential summer festival, Carnevale, with Mese di Arte (Art Month) from June 4 through June 30. Throughout the month, the resorts will be transformed into an art gallery with unbelievable 3D chalk artists, glassblowers, potters, living art installations and an interactive Art Walk. All demonstrations will take place in The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium & Gardens daily from 1-6 p.m. and select art work will be available for purchase to take the magic of Carnevale home.
- June 4-30 –Guests can meander through the resorts on an Art Walk admiring one-of-a-kind pieces. The displays will begin in The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium & Gardens and continue to participating stores in The Grand Canal Shoppes and The Shoppes at The Palazzo. Brochures detailing the route and featured artists will be available to guests.
- June 4-10 – Master craftsman Dr. Robert Shield will demonstrate the intricate and revered art of glassblowing. Shield has produced glass creations for members of the British Royal Family and celebrities and teaches classes locally at the Studio Royal International Academy of Glass Blowing.
- June 11-17 – 3D artist Melanie Stimmel will create seemingly impossible works of art. Stimmel worked as lead technical director for “South Park” before discovering a passion for 3D street painting and has since founded the Street Painting Academy to teach children the time-honored tradition.
- June 18-23 – Thom Bumblauskas from Clay Arts Vegas will produce beautiful ceramics through demonstrations on the potter’s wheel. Bumblauskas has worked nationally as a scenic designer for film, theater and opera and his pieces have been shown and sold at art festivals and galleries throughout the western United States.
- June 24-30 – Art will come to life with living art installations and guests can take their photos with Mona Lisa or other classic masterpieces.

Our First First Friday
Friday April 6, 2012 marked our debut during the First Friday events of the Las Vegas Arts District. For the first time we were able to open our doors and invite people to see our new space. Currently in the Victor F. Keen Gallery we are proudly displaying the artwork of our founding artists. We want to thank all who came out to see our new studio space and gallery that night.
Also that night we had a booth set up in the heart of First Friday, where we were doing demonstrations of wheel throwing and handing out flyers. We an amazing time meeting new people and showing off how much fun ceramics can be! Thank you to all who stopped by and for the energy and enthusiasm. We looked forward to seeing you again and hope you'll be joining us for classes soon!

Fashionably Late
Like all good artists, Clay Arts Vegas will be fashionably late to its own opening.
Although we are ready for the city, the city is not ready for us. We are currently at the mercy of City Planning's time line and simply waiting for one last stamp of approval, but until then are not able to open for classes. We anticipate opening within the next week or two and will be emailing you as soon as we have received the go ahead.
We at Clay Arts Vegas deeply apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding. We are all very excited to begin classes and look forward to seeing you soon!
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Article in the Las Vegas Weekly
We would like to take this moment and share our delight in the article that was written about the introduction of Clay Arts Vegas to the Las Vegas art scene in the downtown Arts District. We had an incredible time Saturday talking with Kristen Peterson and over joyed to have the opportunity to share our journey with her. Please check out the article in this week's edition of the Las Vegas Weekly!

Updated Store Look
Have you checked out our online store lately? It has a new brighter, more beautiful look just in time for spring. We were feeling it was a bit drab and needed a pick me up. Let us know what you think!

Marc Rosenthal's Blog
One of our resident artists and cofounder, Marc Rosenthal, shares his experience about Clay Arts Vegas on his blog. Marc says in his post "It’s incredible to see a dream come together." and we here at CAV couldn't agree more! We are all so excited to see all our hard work paying off. The building is looking beautiful and we can't wait to show it off!

Growth, Learning, and Dreams Come True
Over the past few months, our group of founding members have been working together building our vision of an ideal ceramic studio. We've discussed what our "dream studio" would consist of, what we feel the Las Vegas ceramic community is missing in the way of resources and cohesion, and what our vision of the future is. It is amazing how much you can get done when surrounded by like minded individuals who share a common goal! Everyones' talents and diverse background uniting to make Clay Arts Vegas more than just a studio, a gallery, or a shop, but coming together to form not only a community of creative minds but a resource and outlet for all ages to come and experience the love of clay.
Since the beginning of our journey together I have learned so much about my cofounders and about the different facets of building a business. I have had the pleasure of seeing a different side of my friends that I would not have seen if it weren't for this experience. I have been pushed beyond my comfort zone and am thankful for it. I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to build something so big and to be apart of something this monumental!
We at Clay Arts Vegas appreciate all the love and support our friends and family have given us and hope you will join us on our journey. Come grow with us!
